We took a plane for LA to go to a party and found invites to more parties, visits to museums, artists studios bigger than my back yard. The days were crowned by the opening of Hauser, Wirth & Schimmel art center with the top exhibition A Revolution in the Making. A lunch by the Pacific Ocean then a visit to a great bookstore rounded off the trip before heading for Matsutani’s (1969 - 1975) exhibition at Hauser & Wirths’ home gallery in Zurich. Up in the air again..
Zurich is many things ; all standing very tidily in granite by and above the lake. Down river at Limmatstrasse 270 friends joined us for the opening in the big sunny space of H&W. On the ground floor is the JRP/Ringier publication’s bookstore. Lots of good things to see in that town and unlike LA one can walk or catch a tram.
We are back home in Paris - dizzy, but in the saddle.
